EXPERIMENT 04 · TOUCH
Beyond the Usual Map
The question
What changes when the same touch is moved to a different part of the body?
Method
Begin with one familiar kind of touch.
Choose one familiar kind of touch and keep it as consistent as you reasonably can—similar pressure, movement, pace, and friction.
Then change only the location.
Begin somewhere you already touch regularly.
Then repeat that same touch in several different locations.
These can include areas you already think of as erotic, places you rarely include, or parts of the body you do not usually associate with pleasure at all.
What to Notice
Notice whether the same touch feels:
- clearly pleasurable
- interesting without feeling especially erotic
- calming or grounding
- ticklish, distracting, or uncomfortable
- neutral
- difficult to interpret
Possible results
You may discover a location that deserves more attention.
You may confirm that a familiar area still matters more. Some places may only become interesting at a different level of arousal, with a different pressure, or not at all.
The experiment is not to turn more of the body into erotic territory. It is simply to find out whether changing location changes the experience.
